The primary purpose of this research is to advance scientific knowledge and understanding of how best to understand and measure poverty and social exclusion in Hong Kong.
This website aims to make the scientific results and methods from this research widely and easily available. The methodological details, questionnaire, showcards and other survey instruments are freely available to download from this website, with details in both English and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified). Previous experiences with the British and Northern Ireland Poverty and Social Exclusion surveys (see: www.poverty.ac.uk) has shown that making these (often boring) technical materials easily available is of great assistance to researchers attempting to undertake poverty surveys in other cities/countries or amongst specific population groups.
