Prof. Samual Wong

Prof. Samuel Wong received his doc­tor of med­i­cine degree from the Uni­ver­sity of Toronto and com­pleted his res­i­dency train­ing in Fam­ily Med­i­cine at Dal­housie Uni­ver­sity, Canada. He is a Fel­low of the Cana­dian Col­lege of Fam­ily Prac­tice and a Fel­low of the Royal Aus­tralian Col­lege of Gen­eral Prac­ti­tion­ers, Fel­low of the Hong Kong Col­lege of Com­mu­nity Med­i­cine & Fel­low of the Acad­emy of Med­i­cine in Hong Kong. He has also com­pleted the Mas­ter of Pub­lic Health at the Johns Hop­kins Uni­ver­sity, USA and the Doc­tor of Med­i­cine (MD) research degree at The Chi­nese Uni­ver­sity of Hong Kong. He has been the Head of the Divi­sion of Fam­ily Med­i­cine and Pri­mary Health­care as well as the Asso­ciate Direc­tor in Under­grad­u­ate Stud­ies of the School of Pub­lic Health and Pri­mary Care since 2009. His research areas include mind­ful­ness based inter­ven­tions, pri­mary care and men­tal health inter­ven­tions and eval­u­a­tions in pri­mary care ser­vices as well as social inequal­ity in health. He is a mem­ber of the editorial/​advisory board of four inter­na­tional sci­en­tific jour­nals and one local sci­en­tific jour­nal. He has obtained more than HK$11 mil­lion in exter­nal research grant funds in the capac­ity of prin­ci­pal investigator.
